Skiing on Powderhouse Hill
Winter time travelers to the coastal city of York, have fun in the snow in nearby South Berwick. Powderhouse Hill ski area was first established in 1939, by William Hardy, when he constructed a rope tow on the slope.
Throughout the years, improvements were made to the fifteen acre site and its three ski runs. Skiers access the runs via a tow rope, reaching the 175-foot vertical elevation.
Bring along a sled to cruise down the sledding hill and lace up your ice skates for a fun time gliding across the ice at the skating rink.
Those ready to warm up, head inside the small lodge at the bottom of the hill to enjoy a tasty snack from the snack bar.
Have a great day in the snow at one of the oldest operating ski areas in America. Enjoy your time in Maine.
